some may see it as nothing more than an insect and a punctuation mark.

some see it as a metaphor for transformation, change, hope, and new life.

and to remind them that despite all of their difficulties, they are still alive.

when they could have ended it but chose not to;

the life cycle of the butterfly, which begins with an egg and progresses to caterpillar, chrysalis, adult, and finally ends with the butterfly’s natural transformation, is similar to how we grow as humans. transforming into a beautiful butterfly is not an easy process. there are numerous steps that must be taken. there were numerous trials and errors. and, on occasion, we may fail and have to restart from the beginning.

but that’s okay, we can still get up and try again. and if it becomes too much or you become tired, we can take it slowly, one day at a time. and if one day feels too much, we could take it hour by hour, minute by minute, or one breath at a time.

progress takes time, but you have plenty of it.

may your lives be undergoing a period of renewal and transformation.

and long may you live.
